Sustainability

Tufts plays a crucial role in helping the world adapt to a changing planet while tackling such challenging issues as climate change and resource depletion. Our goal is to be responsible stewards of the physical environment by cultivating knowledge of sustainable issues and solutions across disciplines in our students and faculty.

  • A rice field in Italy.

    A new study assesses the environmental sustainability impact of food suggestions in the national Dietary Guidelines for Americans

  • Significantly greater habitat loss occurs on private lands, indicating a need for more uniform conservation efforts

  • The Grafton clinic saw record admissions in 2019, with owls and baby mammals keeping veterinarians and staff especially busy

  • Children who deeply experience the natural world can grow into “Earth stewards” and restore the planet’s health and future
